Asked to describe our experience with Macek Custom Builders, several words come to mind. Honesty. Integrity. Vision. Skilled and knowledgable professionals. Rescurers.

In 1999, following two years of designing and planning, we began construction on our dream home, a timber frame on sixteen acres of wooded property. We spent time on every detail. We wanted it to be perfect. We broke ground in the summer of 1999. Then, in early 2000, our dream home became a nightmare. Construction came to a screeching halt when our builder, unable to meet his finanical obligations ignored our phone calls and stopped paying the subcontractors and suppliers involved with our project. Our home, while encoIsed, was less than fifty percent complete. Seeking legal assistance, our attorneys advised us to secure at least three buliders' estimates of the state of completion and cost of finishing the home. Starting over, we contacted numerous buliders. Many, while sympathetic to our plight, would not even consider taking on our project. They were concerned with potential liability stemming from work done by our pervious builder.

A friend suggested we contact Macek Custom Builders. Rick Macek and two other builders submitted contracts and specifications. What impressed us most about Rick Macek was his genuine enthusiasm to take on this, to say the least, challenging project. Rick was focused not just on getting the house done, but getting it done right. Even in early meetings with him we sensed that Rick had a vision for our home. His strong knowledge base in engineering and construction were impressive. Even more impressive was his sense of design, his vision of carrying a style through the entire structure. Wonderful details that we had not thought of, but that continue to impress all who visit our home. The .final choice was simple and Rick and Les Macek were ready for the challenge.

Once our project began again, our respect and trust grew even stronger. Working closely with us and explaining things every step of the way, they began making all the previous builder's 'wrongs' right. Rick brought in quality subcontractors and routinely inspected their work. Rick and Les spent many late nights following up on work and completing much of the detail work themselves. Their standards are high. Rick advised us regarding a variety of options that would limit our expenses without sacrificing quality or style. They were open and welcomed our do-it-yourself efforts to keep costs down as well. If we had a concern, call backs were prompt and meetings at the site were scheduled anytime without hesitation. Rick researched timber frame structures, products and options for us to insure the best possible outcome for our project.

In October of 2001 we finally realized our dream and moved our family into our home. Macek Custom Builders played a critical role in helping us achieve our dream. Even two years later, Rick periodically checks-in to make sure all is well.
